VeChain continues its Renaissance update, moving to the third stage. Voting on Hayabusa updates will take place on August 18, allowing the community to influence the network's future.
VeChain Update Stages
The Hayabusa update is the second significant phase in VeChain's multi-stage Renaissance upgrade, following the Galactica phase and preceding the Intergalactic phase. This phase focuses on overhauling tokenomics, decentralizing consensus, and introducing dynamic staking models.
Voting and Tokenomics Changes
Starting August 18, all stakeholders will be able to vote. If successful, the Hayabusa testnet will launch in early September, with the mainnet targeted for the end of December 2025. Hayabusa will shift VeChain's consensus from Proof of Authority to Delegated Proof of Stake (DPoS), allowing for greater community involvement in transaction validation.
Opportunities and Prospects of Hayabusa
Sebastian, a VeChain ambassador, highlighted that Hayabusa creates a reward structure focused on those who actively participate in the network. Block rewards will be rebalanced, with 30% going to Validators and 70% to Delegators, which helps reduce excess VTHO issuance compared to previous distribution models.
The implementation of Hayabusa in VeChain opens up new opportunities for community participation and tokenomics optimization. The changes in reward mechanisms set the stage for institutional adoption.
