Additional Insights on Whale Activity and Altcoin Prices

The recent rally in Bitcoin (BTC) and other alternative cryptocurrencies has instigated a surge of investments in specific altcoins, attracting the attention of whales who are strategically accumulating their positions before potential price surges.

Drawing insights from on-chain data, Santiment has identified prominent whale activities in three specific altcoins – Cardano (ADA), Shiba Inu (SHIB), and JasmyCoin (JASMY). This significant whale accumulation in these altcoins is seen as a positive indicator for their future price trends.

Santiment's analysis reveals a substantial uptick in whale involvement within the ADA, JASMY, and SHIB ecosystems, surpassing the average whale activity witnessed earlier this year. The data suggests that wealthy investors, commonly referred to as whales, have intensified their accumulation efforts in these particular altcoins.

The sudden price surges in Cardano, Shiba Inu, and JasmyCoin are linked to an increase in whale transactions, with the volume of transactions exceeding $100,000 on these networks more than doubling this week compared to the regular levels observed in 2024, underscoring a significant accumulation pattern.

Furthermore, a notable institutional whale, who previously amassed substantial profits from SHIB investments during the bullish market cycle of 2021, has re-entered the SHIB market for new rounds of accumulation. This institutional investor completed a notable transaction, acquiring 715.8 billion SHIB in exchange for 4,849 WETH, valued at $18.5 million.
