Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse raised concerns over the recent attack on the Indian Supreme Court’s YouTube channel to promote a fraudulent XRP investment scheme. In an X post, Garlinghouse condemned the increasing number of scams and hacks targeting “innocent” crypto users.
Introduction
Garlinghouse condemned the incident as “pathetic” and lamented that the community continues to fall victim to fraudulent activities. He reiterated that Ripple will never solicit XRP from the public.
XRP Scam on Indian Supreme Court's YouTube Channel
Yesterday, the Indian Supreme Court’s YouTube channel was hacked. The scammers used the channel to promote Ripple’s XRP token, luring individuals into an investment scam. Originally used to publish official announcements, the channel released XRP-related videos. The scammers rebranded the channel as “Ripple Official,” replaced the image with Ripple’s logo, and deleted the previous videos of the court.
Reaction and Security Measures
The compromised channel violated YouTube’s community guidelines and was removed by the platform. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court assured that the original channel would be recovered soon. The court has also embraced new security measures to restrict further damage to the channel.
Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse urged crypto users to be cautious and vigilant to avoid falling victim to scams.
