A meeting dedicated to local intellectual properties (IP) took place in Indonesia as part of the preparations for the 80th Independence Day celebration. The event is organized by Sekuya, Infia, and the Museum of Toys in collaboration with the Ministry of Creative Economy.
Event and Significance
The event, supported by the Ministry of Creative Economy and the Presidential Staff Office, brought together 50 IP owners. Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, highlighted that this initiative reflects the government's commitment to developing Indonesia's creative industry.
Showcasing Local IPs
The celebration will feature more than 50 local IPs, including popular animated characters like Jumbo, Milk & Mocha, Si Juki, Punopals, Kembu Club, and Red Miller. The event will occur along the route from Monas to Semanggi on August 17, 2025. The Deputy Minister announced that currently, 50 IPs are ready to participate in the celebration.
Support and Cultural Impact
The celebration will include installations such as stickers and standees of IP characters, as well as independence-themed games along the route from Monas to Semanggi. Noudhy Valdryno, Deputy for Dissemination and Media Information at the Presidential Communication Office, expressed strong support for this collaboration and praised the efforts of IP creators in producing iconic characters.
This initiative aims to raise public awareness of Indonesia's cultural diversity expressed through creative works while boosting sustainable growth in the creative economy sector through support for local creators.
