Io.net Responds Swiftly to Cyberattack

Apr 28, 2024

Following a security breach on Io.net, unauthorized individuals were able to exploit user ID tokens to carry out a SQL injection attack on device metadata. As a response, rigorous security measures were put in place to deter future breaches, including the rapid implementation of more robust authentication protocols at the device level. Despite the intrusion, the hackers were prevented from accessing the GPU hardware owing to Io.net’s sophisticated security systems.

The security enhancements introduced encompassed frequent scans, heightened monitoring of unauthorized access attempts, and an upgrade to stronger user authentication mechanisms. Additionally, in the wake of the incident, a decline in active GPU connections occurred concurrently with a glitch in Io.net’s rewards system, causing active connections to drop from 600,000 to only 10,000 initially. To counteract this setback, Io.net has rolled out a revised rewards program to boost user engagement and restore the network connections as the system undergoes upgrades.
