Apple has unveiled its latest iPhone 16, focusing on artificial intelligence and enhanced hardware, setting new standards for competitors.

Innovations in iPhone 16

On Monday, Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) revealed the next iteration of its bread-and-butter revenue generator: the iPhone 16. iPhone sales made up 46% of Apple’s total revenue output in fiscal Q3 2024. The new iPhone 16 focuses on streamlined Apple Intelligence (AI), powered by the latest A18 chip. AI improves user interactions by offering features like quick object identification through the camera and note-taking apps with rewriting and proofreading capabilities.

Broadcom's Role in the New iPhone

Broadcom (NASDAQ: AVGO) is a key supplier for the new iPhone 16 series. In May 2023, Apple made a deal with Broadcom for its film bulk acoustic resonator (FBAR) chips. Broadcom will also supply WiFi 7 chipsets for the iPhone 16. Despite a 5% dip in AVGO stock after Q3 results, the company showed a 47% revenue growth year-over-year.

Contributions from Qualcomm and Cirrus Logic

Qualcomm (NASDAQ: QCOM) provides modems for the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro. The X75 modem delivers 5G connectivity with reduced power consumption. Cirrus Logic (NASDAQ: CRUS) supplies Apple with audio chips and other components for superior sound quality. CRUS aims to diversify its products, focusing on the laptop market.

The new iPhone 16, with its innovations, sets high standards for competitors and opens up new opportunities for supplier companies like Broadcom, Qualcomm, and Cirrus Logic.
