Jeju Island, a popular South Korean tourist destination, plans to introduce NFT-based tourist cards to attract younger visitors.

NFT Introduction in Jeju Island

Famous for its volcanic landscapes and unique matriarchal culture, Jeju Island is preparing to launch an NFT collection. This initiative aims to attract millennial and Gen Z tourists with the unique visitors’ NFT cards.

Benefits of NFT Cards

Jeju Island plans to issue NFT tourist cards on an unnamed blockchain network to offer tourists discounts, subsidies, and other benefits. Users can document their travels, including places visited, times, photos, and videos. NFT holders will enjoy discounts on attractions.

Jeju Island's Crypto Journey

Since 2019, Jeju Island has integrated blockchain technology and launched the local stablecoin Tamna Jeon for tourism development. The release of NFT cards is planned for the second half of 2025, coinciding with renewed interest in crypto in South Korea.

Jeju Island continues to implement advanced technologies to create unique tourism experiences and attract diverse generations.
