John Deaton, founder of Crypto Law, has called on the SEC to release the highly anticipated report on the 2018 speech by former SEC official William Hinman that raised concerns about potential conflicts of interest.

What's the Issue?

Empower Oversight, an independent watchdog group, requested the Office of the Inspector General to investigate possible conflicts of interest related to Hinman’s speech. The investigation is complete, and the report has been sent to the SEC Chairman, but it has not been released publicly.

Deaton’s Message to the SEC

In response to the delay, Deaton, representing 75,000 XRP holders in the Ripple case, contacted the SEC Chairman’s Office. In a respectful but firm message, he asked for the report to be released within 10 days, emphasizing its significance to the public.

This is a respectful request for you to release the report to the public. 75,000 XRP holders are waiting for this.

A Call for Action

Deaton encouraged others to join him in demanding transparency by calling or emailing the SEC to request the report’s release. The goal is to convey that the public deserves to know the report's contents.

As the SEC leadership transition nears, the crypto community hopes the report will be released to ensure government accountability.
