Jupiter, the leading DEX aggregator on Solana, plans to vote on the use of excess 215M JUP tokens left after the airdrop.

Voting on the Use of Excess Tokens

Jupiter DEX is preparing to vote on the usage of additional JUP tokens left after this year’s airdrop event. The exact amount of excess tokens is 215,461,850.21 JUP, unclaimed due to compromised wallets or missed claims. The vote is part of the project's approach to include the community in key decisions.

Community Engagement through Active Staking

Earlier, the project’s lead developer, @weremeow, suggested the excess tokens may be used for Active Staking Rewards (ASR). This would distribute the tokens over a longer period, reducing the JUP in circulation. The ASR program has already distributed more than 361M JUP tokens, and using the excess tokens in ASR will help boost community discussions and decrease circulating tokens. Alternative proposals include immediate token burn or holding them in the community multi-sig wallet.

Plans and Forecasts for JUP Token

The native JUP token aims to recover its one-month peak. In recent weeks, JUP bounced from its lows and reached the $0.87 level. A potential breakout above $0.90 could signal further growth. In the short term, JUP is expected to reclaim the $2 level. JUP also benefits from Jupiter's growing influence, ranking as the third-largest DeFi entity on Solana with over 198K users performing up to 80K daily transactions.

The vote on the usage of excess JUP tokens will be a significant step for Jupiter's development and community engagement. Regardless of the outcome, this decision will significantly impact the project's future strategy and growth.
