Kerberus Cyber Security has completed the acquisition of Pocket Universe, created for fraud prevention, with the goal of developing an antivirus product for cryptocurrency.
Details of the Acquisition Agreement
The acquisition agreement for Pocket Universe was made for a seven-figure sum. Following the deal, Pocket Universe's founders, Justin Phu and Nishan Samarasinghe, plan to focus on new projects while continuing to support the Kerberus team.
Plans for Integration and Development
Kerberus plans to integrate Pocket Universe into its Sentinel3 solution, expanding protective capabilities to all Ethereum Virtual Machine chains and Solana. Co-founder Alex Katz noted that it is now possible to create the first antivirus to address modern issues in the crypto industry.
Challenges in Cryptocurrency Security
Although Kerberus has successfully protected its users from scams, the team discovered that customers continued to lose funds to viruses and malware. Alex Katz emphasized that there is currently no real antivirus for cryptocurrencies on the market, and the solution will be completed in a few months of development.
The deal between Kerberus and Pocket Universe could significantly change the approach to security in the cryptocurrency industry, opening a new chapter in the fight against malware.
