Cryptocurrency exchange KuCoin has announced the launch of its 'Anti-Phishing Month' campaign aimed at increasing user awareness about phishing threats.
Global Phishing Landscape
In Q1 2025, over 1 million phishing attacks were reported by the Anti-Phishing Working Group (APWG). Financial and payment platforms were the most targeted, accounting for over 30% of all attacks. SMS and email phishing remained the most prevalent methods, affecting users across Europe, Asia, and Australia.
KuCoin's Anti-Phishing Initiative
The campaign features a user-centered learning model called 'Learn + Quiz + Defend,' where users can complete educational modules, take quizzes, and activate anti-phishing codes. These actions raise phishing awareness while offering users incentives for engaging in protective behaviors. KuCoin CEO BC Wong emphasized the importance of shared responsibility in cybersecurity.
Permanent Security Measures
KuCoin has also implemented several permanent risk management tools aimed at enhancing account security, such as: * Intelligent Risk Control System, preventing over 5,000 unauthorized access attempts daily; * Real-time alerts for core account functions; * Ongoing educational resources through a Security Academy, providing practical tips and phishing case studies.
KuCoin plans to expand its 'Education + Defense' framework, reinforcing its commitment to creating a safer and more transparent trading environment for users worldwide.
