Larry Fink Shares Views on Cryptocurrency Market and US Economy

Mar 28, 2024

The CEO of BlackRock, Larry Fink, who was previously critical of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, has now shown support for them with his Bitcoin and Ethereum Spot ETF applications. Fink is currently speaking live on Fox Business, where he is sharing his thoughts.

Key points from Fink's statements include his bullish outlook on Bitcoin's long-term prospects. He mentioned that the market now has more liquidity and transparency, which has surprised him. Additionally, Fink expressed optimism about the growth of Spot Bitcoin ETFs, highlighting their rapid expansion.

During the live broadcast, Fink was also questioned about Ethereum by FOX reporter Charles Gasparino. The discussion revolved around potential SEC regulations regarding Ethereum's status as a security and its impact on an ETF. Fink indicated that he does not believe such a classification would be detrimental, suggesting that an ETH ETF could still be launched even if Ethereum is deemed a security.

BlackRock recently submitted an application for an Ethereum ETF, which was among the SEC's latest delayed decisions. One of the main concerns raised by the regulatory authority is related to the staking feature of the Ethereum network.
