Matrixport and HKUST Institute for Finance Research have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, marking the beginning of a strategic partnership in digital asset research.
Strategic Partnership Between Matrixport and HKUST
The signed memorandum aims to explore new solutions in real asset tokenization and sustainable development of fintech ecosystems in Hong Kong and beyond. Both organizations will work on bridging traditional financial markets with Web3 technologies.
Research on Gold Tokenization
The collaboration will focus on XAUm — a physical gold-backed token issued by Matrixdock. The research will investigate the global application of tokenized gold, user behavior, and market access mechanisms. The goal is to assess the role of gold as real assets in portfolio management and macroeconomic risk hedging strategies.
Blockchain Data Analytics for Real Assets
The partnership will also conduct research on blockchain data analytics. The studies will cover asset flows, transaction architectures, and decentralized lending behaviors, helping to uncover structural dynamics between blockchain systems and traditional finance.
The collaboration between Matrixport and HKUST Institute for Finance Research is set to establish a new benchmark in the asset tokenization sector and drive innovation in Hong Kong's fintech landscape.
