Microsoft has issued an apology to Jyamma Games for the Xbox certification delay of Enotria: The Last Song, which has caused uncertainty in the game's release timeline.
Microsoft Apology and Release Delay
Microsoft apologized after Jyamma Games announced that it would be indefinitely delaying the launch of the game’s Xbox version due to the absence of communication from the tech giant, despite the game being ready to port.
Certification Process Uncertainty
The CEO of Jyamma Games, Jacky Greco, expressed his frustration in a Discord message, noting that the firm has been waiting for Microsoft to address its certification queries for the past two months. As of this period, the studio still has no new information, even though the company has already invested significantly in the Xbox version's development.
Other Developers' Certification and Optimization Challenges
Jyamma Games is not the only company dealing with various issues concerning Xbox releases. Funcom, the studio responsible for Dune Awakening, admitted having trouble optimizing the game for Xbox Series S, resulting in time wastage. Similarly, Larian Studios, who developed Baldur’s Gate 3, experienced delays in the Xbox version's development, leading to postponements.
Despite these issues, Jyamma Games continues to work on releasing Enotria: The Last Song on other platforms, including PC and PlayStation 5. Further discussions with Microsoft are underway to resolve certification problems, aiming to release the game on Xbox in the near future.
