MTN Nigeria has completed the restoration of network services across 15 local government areas in three states following scheduled maintenance work.
Restoration of Network Services
Today, MTN Nigeria announced the restoration of services on 101 sites in Adamawa, Borno, and Kano. According to the company, the restoration occurred after maintenance was completed on August 24, 2025. All affected sites are now operating normally.
Reasons for Maintenance
The maintenance was necessary to address infrastructure challenges impacting the company’s operations in the region. During the operation, a new fibre span was installed along the AFCOT–Bawo Village route in Adamawa, replacing damaged sections of the network.
Impact on Customers and Businesses
The maintenance affected 2G, 3G, 4G, and enterprise connectivity services. Temporary disruptions impacted users in areas such as Girei, Song, Mubi North, Hong, and Michika in Adamawa; Askira/Uba and Shani in Borno; and Nasarawa in Kano. MTN apologized for the inconvenience caused and thanked subscribers for their patience.
The restoration of services is an important step in addressing connectivity gaps in Nigeria’s Northeast. MTN remains committed to providing reliable connectivity for its customers.
