MTN Uganda released its operational results for the first half of 2025, noting a profit decline and a growth in subscribers.

MTN Uganda recorded a 9.7% year-on-year drop in profit after tax to Ush 267 billion. The decrease was attributed to a 115% increase in tax liability, resulting in a 9.7% reduction in profit. However, adjusted profit after tax increased by 27.8% to Ush 295.7 billion when excluding a once-off tax payment.
Subscriber Base Growth and Revenue Data
MTN Uganda's subscriber base grew by 10.2%, reaching 22.8 million. The company's total revenue saw a 13.19% increase to Ush 1.72 trillion. Service revenue, which includes data, voice, and fintech services, also grew by 13.3%. Data revenue jumped by 31.3%, while fintech revenues rose by 18.6%.
Outlook for H2 2025
MTN Uganda forecasts improved financial results for the second half of the year. The company is confident in positive service revenue momentum driven by increasing demand for data services and plans to invest in its core network for better service quality and stability.
