Netflix continues to lead the streaming industry, adding 18.9 million subscribers during the holiday period and reaching a total of nearly 302 million. The company also announced upcoming price hikes for 2025.

Netflix Subscriber Growth

Thanks to its successful fourth-quarter programming, including the second season of 'Squid Game', Netflix was able to attract a record number of subscribers. This Korean thriller remains the most-watched Netflix TV series. In the final quarter of 2024, Netflix achieved a profit of $1.87 billion on $10.25 billion in revenue, marking double-digit growth from the previous year.

Financial Success and Plans for Netflix

Netflix announced a price increase in several countries, including the US and Canada. The ad-supported tier will cost $7.99 per month, while the standard ad-free tier will rise to $17.99. The premium tier will increase to $24.99. The price increase is attributed to the company's investments in programming and improved subscriber experience.

Forecasts and Goals for 2025

For 2025, Netflix plans to bring back its popular shows like 'The Addams Family' and 'Stranger Things'. The platform will also focus on live broadcasts and increasing ad revenues. Revenues are expected to reach $43.5-44.5 billion, reflecting an increase of $500 million from earlier forecasts.

Netflix continues to strengthen its position in the streaming video market by increasing subscribers and strategically raising prices. The company's upcoming plans include content investments and expanded advertising business.
