According to a new report by Henley and Partners, the number of people holding over $1 million worth of Bitcoin has climbed to 85,400, up 111% from the previous year.
Surge in Bitcoin Millionaires
The Crypto Wealth Report 2024 states that the number of individuals holding over $1 million in Bitcoin surged to 85,400 by July 30 this year. Worldwide, 172,300 people now hold over $1 million in cryptocurrencies, a 95% increase from last year.
Increase in Crypto Wealth
The top echelons of crypto wealth also saw a substantial boost. The number of people holding more than $100 million in crypto assets rose by 79% to 325. Six new crypto billionaires were minted over the past year, bringing the total number to 28.
Key Growth Drivers
The price of Bitcoin has risen by 142% over the past year, reaching $63,100. Henley and Partners' head of private clients, Dominic Volek, pointed to the introduction of spot Bitcoin ETFs and the increase in total assets under management as the primary drivers of this growth.
The Henley and Partners report highlights the significant rise in the number of crypto and Bitcoin millionaires over the past year, reflecting growing interest and trust in cryptocurrencies among investors.
