Two users of OKX recently experienced a hack and were promptly compensated by the platform. The incident involved the hijacking of SMS and email accounts, as reported by Chinese crypto journalist Colin Wu. In response to the breach, OKX has made it mandatory to use Google Authenticator to prevent similar incidents in the future. Blockchain security firm SlowMist highlighted the exploit on June 9, 2024, where two users fell victim to a SIM-swapping attack due to a vulnerability in OKX's Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) system.
