This fall, OpenAI is set to release its next-generation artificial intelligence product called Strawberry. The new AI model aims to surpass current models and tackle tasks that existing AI systems cannot solve.
Features of the New AI Model Strawberry
According to Seeking Alpha, citing a report from The Information, Strawberry will introduce groundbreaking features in AI problem-solving. The model is intended to tackle new mathematical tasks, create effective market strategies, and solve complex word problems. Furthermore, Strawberry is capable of carrying out complex searches to conduct research activities, enhancing the system’s information processing capabilities.
Innovations in OpenAI Products
The announcement of Strawberry follows previous developments in AI technology by OpenAI. In July, OpenAI made several significant changes to its product offerings. A new feature called 'voice' was introduced for ChatGPT, using the GPT-4o model, providing clear audio feedback and facilitating ongoing conversations.
On July 25, OpenAI launched SearchGPT, a tool expected to provide shorter and more effective search results than conventional search engines. The prototype offers brief answers with links to sources, enhancing the effectiveness and recency of the information found. Additionally, on July 19, OpenAI released a cheaper version of its ChatGPT AI model called GPT-4o mini, surpassing the previous GPT-3.5 Turbo with improved textual understanding, multimodal reasoning, and long-context comprehension.
OpenAI Partnerships
Recently, Condé Nast and OpenAI agreed to collaborate to incorporate content from Condé Nast's established media outlets, such as Vogue, Wired, and The New Yorker, into OpenAI’s products. This partnership includes the popular ChatGPT and SearchGPT models, offering users the opportunity to read Condé Nast publications. The financial details of the agreement have not been disclosed, but it follows similar arrangements OpenAI has made with other top publishers such as Time magazine, Financial Times, Axel Springer, Le Monde, and Prisa Media. These agreements allow OpenAI access to vast datasets for training language models and fetching up-to-date data.
OpenAI continues to advance its AI technology, offering new capabilities to users and expanding partnerships with major media companies.
