Pantera Capital Plans to Raise $1 Billion for Early-Stage Crypto and AI Projects
The renowned crypto venture capital firm, Pantera Capital, is gearing up to launch a substantial $1 billion investment fund specifically aimed at supporting early-stage crypto projects. According to Cosmo Jiang, the portfolio manager at Pantera Capital, a significant portion of this fund, approximately $200 million, is earmarked for ventures in the field of artificial intelligence (AI). The initial closure of the fund is anticipated early in 2025.
While the exact allocation for AI endeavors is still under consideration, Jiang has indicated that $200 million is a practical estimation. Pantera Capital has a track record of investing a notable percentage, around 15-20%, of its capital in AI projects, signaling a growing emphasis on this innovative sector.
Pantera Capital has a solid reputation for backing leading platforms such as Coinbase, Arbitrum, Circle, and Cosmos, underscoring its prominent position as a key investor in the crypto industry.
