Paraguayan authorities recently dismantled the most significant illegal bitcoin mining operation ever discovered in the country. The operation, carried out on May 28 in Saltos de Guaíra by the Paraguayan National Power Administration (ANDE) and local prosecutors, uncovered and disconnected 2,738 bitcoin miners operating without proper authorization. These miners were found to be illicitly drawing power from the national grid by bypassing the electric meter. Consequently, the mining farm was shut down, halting its unauthorized activities.
