Europe’s prominent digital services provider, T-Systems, a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom, has joined forces with Aurora Labs, an innovative automotive software company focused on AI. Their collaboration aims to revolutionize software updates in the automotive industry. The primary goal is to improve Time-to-Market and reduce Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for Software-Defined Vehicles (SDVs) while enhancing the driving experience through continuous software enhancements.

Objectives of the Partnership

In this partnership, T-Systems will merge Aurora Labs’ diverse software update capabilities with its comprehensive Over-the-Air (OTA) platform. This integration will capitalize on T-Systems' vast expertise in connected vehicle services and cloud infrastructure, coupled with Aurora Labs' OTA technology proficiency. Together, they will provide a flexible, secure, and cost-efficient solution for automotive manufacturers and fleets, enabling updates on any vehicle component at any time, even during operation.

Aurora Labs’ proprietary Line-Of-Code Intelligence (LOCI) technology is notable for its capability to reduce update files by up to 97%, significantly cutting data consumption. Additionally, it incorporates an advanced rollback mechanism to ensure vehicle uptime and prevent software mishaps in adherence to UNECE R156 regulations.

T-Systems complements this with its robust OTA platform, which has overseen updates for more than 30 million vehicles. Their scalable and modular platforms seamlessly integrate with any Original Equipment Manufacturer's (OEM) existing infrastructure, boasting an update success rate of up to 99.99%.

This innovation, alongside T-Systems' dependable OTA platform, is poised to meet the stringent requirements of overseeing extensive OEM fleets.

Aurora Labs, known for its involvement with the EVM Blockchain Aurora on the NEAR Protocol, suggests that this collaboration could have substantial implications for NEAR. At the time of the announcement, the NEAR price was $7.08.
