Binance Labs announced an investment in the stablecoin infrastructure protocol Perena, developed by Quine Co. This pre-seed funding of approximately $3 million was led by Borderless Capital and attracted several institutional investors.

What is Perena?

Perena is a stablecoin infrastructure protocol aimed at addressing the core challenges of the stablecoin market, valued over $170 billion. It seeks to create a more efficient, decentralized, and accessible stablecoin ecosystem.

Key Features of Perena

Perena's flagship product, Numéraire, is an automated market maker for the creation, swapping, and liquidity provisioning of stablecoins. It simplifies the launch of new stablecoins and improves the liquidity of existing ones. Additionally, Perena addresses the fragmentation of the stablecoin ecosystem by unifying liquidity pools, enhancing conditions for all market participants.

What Does This Investment Mean for Perena's Future?

The investment will allow Perena to expand its team and enhance community engagement, as well as develop a comprehensive stablecoin product suite on Solana. Funds will also be directed towards promoting the mass adoption of stablecoins and improving capitalization within the DeFi ecosystem.

Binance Labs remains committed to providing evergreen support for early-stage projects that are driving the growth of the Web3 ecosystem.Max Coniglio, Investment Director at Binance Labs

The investment in Perena highlights Binance Labs' role in supporting innovation in the cryptocurrency and DeFi world. This will help accelerate stablecoin adoption and ensure their broader usage.
