His firm, Founders Fund, owns a 7.5% stake in ETHZilla, which previously operated in the biotechnology sector but has since shifted focus to Ethereum purchases. The fund also controls 9.1% of Bitmine Immersion Technologies, which raised $250 million for Ethereum acquisitions. Following the announcement of Thiel's investment, ETHZilla's market value skyrocketed from $18 million to $741 million.
