Pi Network has officially announced the launch of its open network scheduled for February 20, 2025, enabling Pi token connectivity with external blockchain systems.
Pi’s Path to the Open Network
Pi Network has followed several key phases. During the Enclosed Network phase starting December 2021, the Mainnet operated without external connections, allowing users to complete KYC and migrate their Pi. The Grace Period from July 2024 accelerated KYC processes. Open Network, scheduled for February 2025, will enable external blockchain connectivity.
What to Expect from Open Network
With Open Network, Pi will be able to connect with external networks, allowing businesses and developers to create decentralized applications with broader interoperability. Expansion of decentralized nodes and business integration with verification are anticipated.
Challenges and Community Skepticism
Some participants remain skeptical due to past delays. While previous launches were postponed, Pi Network states that all prerequisites are now met and there will be no further delays.
With Open Network, Pi Network is set for broader blockchain engagement, but it will be crucial to adhere to the launch schedule for success.
