Pi Network has announced the opening of registration for Pi Hackathon 2025. The event started on August 15, 2025, with the official opening scheduled for August 21.
Participation Conditions and Timeline
Teams can consist of any number of members, but each participant must pass KYC verification to receive rewards. Judges will evaluate apps based on various criteria, including usefulness, ease of use, and design. The deadline for project submissions is October 15, 2025, with a midpoint check on September 19 where teams can showcase their achievements.
Prize Pool and Awards
The hackathon has a prize pool of 160,000 Pi, which will be distributed among up to eight teams. The first prize will be 75,000 Pi, followed by 45,000 Pi for the second prize and 15,000 Pi for the third. Additionally, five teams will receive honorary mention awards of 5,000 Pi each.
Developer Tools
Participants are encouraged to use tools like Pi App Studio, Brainstorm, and the Developer Portal to create their projects. They can also utilize AI tools to speed up the development process. All applications must be uploaded to the Pi Developer Portal, including a demo video and the official submission form. Developers may also use the Pi Open Source (PiOS) license, allowing them to share and build upon each other's work.
