Mysten Labs, the developer behind the Sui blockchain, has begun accepting preorders for its new gaming console, the SuiPlay0X1, integrated with the Sui blockchain. The console offers gaming capabilities with web3 features.
SuiPlay0X1 Specifications
The SuiPlay0X1, powered by Playtron’s device-agnostic game operating system, features an AMD Ryzen 7 7840U CPU, an AMD Ryzen 780M GPU, 16 GB of DRAM memory, and a 512GB SSD with expandable storage. The device also boasts a 7-inch IPS no-bezel screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 and supports both WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2. Weighing in at 677 grams, the SuiPlay0X1 is expected to be comparable to the popular Steam Deck gaming console developed by Valve.
Availability and Pricing
The SuiPlay0X1 is priced at $600, plus shipping and tax. Purchases can be made using cryptocurrencies such as Sui (SUI), Ethereum (ETH), or Solana (SOL). Preorders are open until all available units are sold, with the first thousand customers receiving a non-fungible token (NFT) that grants special access, rewards, and perks. Deliveries are expected to begin in 2025. While it is yet to be seen what blockchain functions the console will feature, the device is understood to support default PC games from platforms like Epic Games and Steam, and will also host Sui-powered games.

However, despite these innovations, no web3 company has yet achieved mainstream adoption in the gaming industry.
