Digital asset trading and custody firm Prometheum has announced that it will add Uniswap and Arbitrum to its custodial platform, where they will join Ether. Custodial services should be available in the third quarter of the year.

Adding New Tokens to the Platform

Prometheum will add Uniswap (UNI) and Arbitrum (ARB) tokens to its custodial platform, classifying them as “digital asset securities.” Custodial services are expected to be available in the third quarter of this year.

Classification of Tokens as Securities

The classification of Uniswap and Arbitrum as securities may be controversial, although Prometheum has made the same claim about Ether. Many crypto firms have faced difficulties registering with the SEC, raising suspicions of favoritism in Prometheum's case.

Prometheum's Unique Approach to Digital Assets

Prometheum is registered as a special purpose broker-dealer (SPBD) with the SEC and is a member of the self-regulatory organization FINRA. The company claims to be “the only SEC-qualified custodian and SPBD for digital asset securities.” Prometheum plans to continue expanding its services to include custody and trading of various digital assets.

Prometheum continues to expand its digital asset custody services, adding new tokens and supporting a range of investment products. This is expected to provide support for a wide variety of digital assets, including equities, debt securities, ETFs, mutual funds, and other investment products issued and transferred on a blockchain.
