Billionaire and founder of Bridgewater Associates Ray Dalio commented on portfolio allocation, recommending a 15% investment in Bitcoin and gold.
Investing in Bitcoin and Gold
During his appearance on the 'Master Investor' podcast, Dalio stated, "If you were neutral on everything, in other words, you didn't have a point of view, and you were optimizing your portfolio for the best return-to-risk ratio, you would have about 15% of your money in gold or Bitcoin." Despite this, he emphasized that he "strongly prefers" gold to Bitcoin, leaving the choice to investors.
Central Banks and Bitcoin
Dalio pointed out that Bitcoin has a limited supply and certain transaction benefits, with many perceiving it as money. However, he doubts that any central banks would hold BTC as a reserve currency due to the lack of privacy.
Warning About U.S. Debt
In his podcast appearance, Dalio also issued a warning regarding unsustainable U.S. debt, stating that the country's debt is six times greater than its earnings. "And so, when we look forward into the next year, the supply of debt that the U.S. will have to sell is about $12 trillion," he added.
Dalio emphasizes the importance of diversifying investment portfolios, suggesting attention to both Bitcoin and gold while highlighting the risks associated with debt and potential government control.
