dWallet Labs has announced REFHE, a new encryption scheme that enhances computation on encrypted data by enabling support for both arithmetic and logical operations.
Significance of Fully Homomorphic Encryption
Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) allows computation on encrypted data without revealing the underlying information, marking a significant achievement in cryptography. REFHE eliminates the trade-off between efficient arithmetic and logic.
Advantages of REFHE over TFHE
REFHE shows considerable improvements over the previously popular TFHE scheme, including ciphertexts that are 100 times smaller, multiplications that are 20 times faster, and additions that are 1,000 times faster. These enhancements make REFHE a practical tool for encryption, functioning similarly to real processors.
Integration of REFHE in Ika Network
New advancements in FHE, such as REFHE and Threshold FHE, can be integrated into the 2PC-MPC protocol that powers the Ika network. This opens up new possibilities for executing Zero-Trust signing with FHE, reducing communication rounds and improving security.
With the advent of REFHE, dWallet Labs takes an important step towards simplifying and enhancing the process of working with encrypted data, fostering the development of new secure applications.
