Pi Network has announced a Hackathon aimed at developing decentralized applications (dApps) to expand the use of its cryptocurrency. Participants can create projects across various sectors.
Theme and Goals of the Hackathon
The Hackathon will feature a broad, open-ended theme, allowing participants to design applications in diverse industries such as payments, gaming, tokenization, and finance. This is intended to stimulate creativity and lead to unique solutions that may help in the real-world application of Pi Network.
Prize Pool and Participation Conditions
The prize pool for the competition totals 160,000 Pi coins, estimated to be worth approximately $60,800 at current valuations. The winning team will receive 75,000 Pi, with second and third places taking 45,000 and 15,000 coins, respectively. Up to five additional awards of 5,000 coins each may be given for outstanding projects. Registrations are now open, with the Hackathon officially beginning on August 21 and final submissions due by October 15.
Developer Support and Tools
To assist participants, Pi Network is providing a variety of tools. Developers can utilize Pi Open Source (PiOS) for collaborative efforts, Pi App Studio for streamlined application creation, and the Brainstorm app to share ideas and gather feedback. This combination of open-source development and structured mentorship aims to give builders the best chance of launching viable and scalable applications.
The Pi Network Hackathon presents a unique opportunity for developers and may significantly impact the ecosystem and Pi Coin's price. The event is expected to draw attention to the project and facilitate its development.
