Ripple Labs has announced a new roadmap for the XRP Ledger for 2025 aimed at enhancing the network and expanding its capabilities.
New Institutional Features
Ripple plans to add a new Credentials standard to improve Decentralized Identity (DID) on XRPL. The Ripple 2.3.0 release will include Permissioned DEX and Permissioned Domain features, allowing the creation of compliant platforms on the network.
Multi-Purpose Token Standard
XRPL plans to introduce the Multi-Purpose Token (MPT) standard, a semi-fungible token allowing metadata attachment for real-world asset tokenization.
Enhancing Programmability
To enhance programmability on XRPL, an EVM sidechain is planned for Q2 2025, bringing new decentralized applications to the XRPL ecosystem.
With plans set for 2025, Ripple aims to enhance XRPL's functionality to attract institutional users and boost network adoption.
