The lawsuit between Ripple and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) remains unresolved. As it nears its final stages, the case is drawing attention from the crypto community.

Support from Bitwise

Bitwise Asset Management co-founder and CEO Hunter Horsley praised Ripple’s actions in the legal battle with the SEC, calling Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse a role model.

In an interview, Horsley stated, 'There’s a ton of great things to say about Brad. But the reason one is that they really took on the mantle of pushing back against the SEC’s egregious enforcement.'

Impact of SEC on Other Crypto Companies

The SEC's aggressive enforcement actions have significantly impacted other major crypto firms, defining how crypto assets and exchanges would be regulated under law. In 2023, Coinbase and Uniswap Labs faced challenges from the SEC for different reasons. Horsley emphasized that the SEC’s blatant sanctions have impacted Uniswap, adding, 'It’s impacted consensus, it’s impacted Coinbase, and not everyone can fight back, and they (Ripple) were the first to fight back, and they just recently prevailed.'

Timeline for Ripple vs SEC Lawsuit

The battle has become one of the most closely watched legal disputes in crypto history, expected to take shape on August 15, 2025. The SEC has previously delayed its appeals, but now it needs to report to the appeal court, according to pro-XRP lawyer Bill Morgan.

The developments surrounding the Ripple vs SEC lawsuit remain at the forefront, and support from other members of the crypto community may play a significant role in its outcome.
