Targeted Crypto Exchanges
Some of the affected platforms included India's WazirX exchange, losing $235 million, and Radiant Capital, which faced losses of $50 million. Additionally, $374.13 million were siphoned off from DMM Bitcoin, Upbit, and Rain Management.
DPRK's Cyber Program Threat
Groups like Lazarus actively employ stealthy methods, including malware, to conduct attacks. Blockchain companies and crypto exchanges are warned of ongoing risks and urged to strengthen their defenses and avoid employing North Korean IT workers.
