A statue of Satoshi Nakamoto has been unveiled in Vietnam, highlighting the country’s progress in blockchain technology.
Statue of Satoshi Nakamoto Unveiled in Hanoi
On September 9 in Hanoi, the Vietnam Blockchain Association (VBA) and 1Matrix unveiled a statue of Satoshi Nakamoto. This statue is the fifth in the world honoring the Bitcoin founder, following installations in Hungary, Switzerland, El Salvador, and Japan.
Purpose and Significance of the Blockchain Gallery
The Blockchain Gallery is Vietnam's first permanent exhibition space for blockchain technology, digital assets, and art. According to Phan Duc Trung, head of VBA and 1Matrix, the gallery and the statue will be open to the public every Saturday, with plans to replicate the model across the country.
Design of the Statue and Its Symbolism
The statue was designed by Italian artist Valentina Picozzi. Its unique design creates a solid appearance from some angles, but fades when viewed from the front, symbolizing Nakamoto’s elusive public persona and the decentralized nature of Bitcoin.
The unveiling of the Satoshi Nakamoto statue in Vietnam symbolizes the rising interest in blockchain technology and the country's aim to secure a prominent position in the global Web3 ecosystem.
