The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is reviewing several applications for XRP-based ETFs. Currently, only one ETF has been approved.

Overview of the Current Situation with XRP ETFs

The SEC recently published its listing guidelines, stating that a cryptocurrency can qualify for an ETF if it has been traded in futures markets for at least six months. While Canada launched several XRP ETFs in June 2025, applications from the U.S. are still awaiting approval. The SEC is expected to announce its final decision on most of these applications by October 2025.

List of XRP ETFs Awaiting SEC Approval

The following applications are currently under review:

- **Grayscale XRP ETF:** Application filed on January 13, 2025, to convert its XRP Trust to an ETF. Approval deadline is set for October 18, 2025.

- **21Shares XRP ETF:** Application filed on November 21, 2024, acknowledged by the SEC on February 19, 2025. Final decision due by October 19, 2025.

- **Bitwise XRP ETF:** Application filed on December 2, 2024, acknowledged by the SEC on February 19, 2025. Final deadline is October 20, 2025.

- **Canary Capital XRP ETF:** Application filed on October 8, 2024, acknowledged by the SEC on February 19, 2025. Final deadline is October 24, 2025.

- **Wisdom Tree XRP ETF:** Application filed on December 2, 2024, acknowledged by the SEC on February 19, 2025. Final deadline is October 25, 2025.

- **Franklin Templeton XRP ETF:** Application filed in March 2025. Final deadline is also October 25, 2025.

- **CoinShares XRP ETF:** Application filed on January 24, 2025, acknowledged on February 19, 2025. Final deadline is October 25, 2025.

- **RexShares Rex-Osprey XRP ETF:** Application filed on January 21, 2025. The SEC was expected to make a decision in July, but it got delayed.

Future of XRP ETFs in the US

Currently, the only approved XRP ETF in the U.S. is the ProShares Ultra XRP ETF, filed on January 17, 2025, which received approval for listing on NYSE Arca in mid-July. The fate of the other applications lies with the SEC, and their judgments will be made in the coming months.

The expected decisions from the SEC regarding XRP ETF applications might significantly impact the cryptocurrency market in the U.S. With only one ETF currently approved, investor interest remains high as events unfold.
