Solana Mobile announced the shipment of the first batch of 150,000 Seeker smartphones, marking a new phase in the development of decentralized mobile networks.
First Step Towards Decentralized Mobile Network
Today, Solana Mobile has shipped the first batch of 150,000 Seeker smartphones to the public. Pre-orders for the Seeker began in April, and the batch size was confirmed in May. The shipping date was announced on May 21.
Ecosystem and SKR Token
Solana Mobile's General Manager, Emmett Hollyer, stated that the Seeker decentralized network will be incentivized through an economy powered by the SKR token. He noted that the SKR token gives users control over their mobile experience. The Seeker comes with a Seed Vault Wallet, Seeker ID, and the Solana dApp Store featuring over 100 offerings, creating a platform for secure engagement.
Future of the Mobile Industry
Anatoly Yakovenko, Co-Founder and CEO of Solana Labs, commented on the TEEPIN architecture supporting the decentralized mobile network, emphasizing it as the 'next evolution in mobile.' He added that trust in this system is verified through cryptography, with access to platform governance being based on open regulation.
The launch of the Seeker opens new horizons for decentralized mobile solutions, enabling users to have real power in the mobile ecosystem.
