MTN Nigeria has announced the launch of the seventh edition of its mPulse Spelling Bee competition, aimed at enhancing literacy among youth across Nigeria.
Overview of the Competition
This year's edition features a new structure that emphasizes regional inclusion and physical competitions. It is open to Nigerian students aged 9 to 15 in primary and secondary schools.
Structure and Stages of the Competition
The competition will unfold in five stages: Practice Stage, Round 1 (Entry Phase), Round 2 (Regional Qualification), Round 3 (Physical Regional Competitions), and the Grand Finale. From the first round, the top 3,000 students will qualify for regional rounds, and only 20 final spellers will advance to the Grand Finale in Lagos.
Prizes and Rewards
The total prize pool exceeds ₦40 million. The overall winner will be crowned *MTN CEO for a Day*, awarded a ₦5 million educational grant, and receive a brand new laptop and smartphone. Their teacher will receive ₦500,000, and the winner's school will be given 10 laptops and MTN 5G routers.
