The Shiba Inu team has taken measures following a hack related to their Shibarium protocol. 4.6 million BONE tokens have been frozen for security reasons.
Details of the Attack
The attacker temporarily gained validator voting power by purchasing 4.6 million BONE in the same block with funds obtained from the bridge hack. This power was used to sign a malicious state on Shibarium.
Actions by the Shiba Inu Team
The project team announced a comprehensive investigation involving both internal security staff and external partners. Staking and unstaking operations have been halted to protect community assets.
Information on Tokens
It has been confirmed that the LEASH, ROAR, TREAT, BAD, and SHIFU tokens affected by the attack have not been moved yet. The attacker attempted to sell approximately $700,000 worth of KNINE, but all attempts failed due to the blacklisting of the K9 Finance DAO multisig address.
As a result of the incident, the Shiba Inu team has taken precautionary measures and initiated an investigation to clarify all circumstances surrounding the event.
