Shibarium: A Surge in User Accounts and Transaction Spending

Shibarium, a blockchain layer-2 solution specifically designed for the Shiba Inu ecosystem, has witnessed an unprecedented spike in the number of new user accounts.

In just 24 hours, the number of new accounts surged by 962 percent, marking a significant milestone for the network.

On June 15, Shibarium recorded 16 new accounts, but on June 16, this number skyrocketed to 154, indicating increased interest and involvement in the Shiba Inu community.

Surge in Transaction Spending in BONE

U Today reported that the remarkable increase in user accounts coincided with a significant rise in the average amount spent per transaction in BONE, the native token of Shiba Inu.

According to data from Shibariumscan, the average transaction amount increased from 0.00222 BONE to 0.00458 BONE in the same period. BONE, used as gas fees for transactions on the Shibarium network, plays a crucial role in this ecosystem.

Part of each transaction fee is converted into SHIB and then burned, reducing the overall supply of SHIB tokens.

Decline in Active Accounts and Total Transactions

Despite the surge in new accounts and increased transaction volume, Shibarium has faced a decline in the number of active accounts and total transactions.

The number of active accounts dropped from 836 to 766, and the total transaction volume decreased significantly by 63.2 percent, falling from 13,191 to 4,859 in the same period.

This difference raises questions about Shibarium's ability to manage increased demand while maintaining operational efficiency.

Factors Influencing Transactions

The variance between the rise in new users and the decline in transactions can be attributed to several factors.

Many new users may have joined the network to explore its functionalities or to hold BONE and SHIB tokens rather than engage in frequent transactions.

Moreover, current market conditions may have influenced more cautious trading behavior, leading to a reduction in the number of transactions despite the growing user base.

The surge in new accounts indicates a positive trend for Shiba Inu and its blockchain solution, Shibarium.

However, the simultaneous decrease in active accounts and transactions highlights the need for further analysis and potential adjustments to ensure the network can sustain its growth.

As Shibarium continues to evolve, overcoming these challenges will be crucial to maintaining user engagement and network efficiency.
