Shibarium, the layer-2 blockchain dedicated to Shiba Inu, has observed a notable increase in average transaction fees within the last 24 hours. Data from Shibariumscan indicates a substantial rise in the amount of BONE tokens utilized per transaction, escalating from 30.4 to 90.84.

The native token of Shiba Inu, BONE plays a critical role in the ecosystem. It serves as the currency for paying transaction fees on the Shibarium network and contributes to the burning of SHIB tokens. A portion of each BONE transaction fee is converted into SHIB and then transferred to a defunct wallet, effectively decreasing the overall supply and potentially enhancing the token's scarcity.

The recent surge in transaction fees on Shibarium has accompanied a notable upsurge in transaction volumes. Over a span of just 24 hours, the volume of transactions on Shibarium surged by 54%, escalating from 6,078 to 9,365.
