Leke Oyetoke, founder of SIIT – Scholars International Institute of Technology, and his team have launched SIIT Africa, an initiative aimed at providing essential technical and vocational skills.
The New SIIT Africa Initiative
SIIT Africa is designed to meet the growing demand for skilled talent while equipping individuals with self-employable and monetizable skills.
Skills Needs in Africa
With a rapidly growing youth population in Africa, there is a critical need for skills that not only enable employment but also empower individuals to create economic value through entrepreneurship and innovation. Traditional educational systems often fail to provide these skills, resulting in high youth unemployment rates. Vocational and technical education, digital literacy, and entrepreneurial training are becoming vital tools for economic empowerment.
SIIT Africa Learning Model
SIIT Africa's learning model includes live online classes, well-structured curricula, expert tutors, peer-to-peer training sessions, and industrial internships. This program ensures that students can learn from top professionals, regardless of their location.
By developing relevant skills, Africa can harness its vast talent pool, reduce unemployment, and fuel economic growth. EdTech platforms and vocational training programs play a crucial role in this process.
