According to on-chain data, Solana reached a new yearly high of 2.3 million daily active users on August 28.
Solana Beats Previous Record
Solana's previous daily active user record was 2.1 million, set on March 17 when SOL's price hit $181 and surpassed $200 in the following days. User activity spiked markedly in 2024 as SOL's price rose to $209. Before August 23, active daily users were below 1 million but surged significantly in the subsequent days.
Solana Meme Coins Drop in Value
CoinGecko data indicates that Solana-based meme coins also suffered in the recent market crash. While top tokens such as dogwifhat (WIF) and Bonk recorded minimal losses, others like POPCAT and BOOK OF MEME (BOME) experienced price drops up to 7%.
While the reasons for the sudden increase in active users are unclear, Solana remains popular amid current market conditions.
