SpaceX has postponed the launch of its Starship rocket, the most powerful rocket ever built, less than 30 minutes before the planned liftoff due to ground support issues.
Launch Cancellation
The launch was scheduled to occur from the South Texas site known as Starbase, with the flight window opening at 6:30 p.m. local time. The cancellation came amid increased scrutiny following several explosive setbacks.
Recurring Test Failures
Earlier Starship flights this year ended in explosions minutes after liftoff. A third flight failed to deploy test satellites. In June, another Starship exploded on the ground during fueling.
SpaceX's Goals for Starship
SpaceX aims to demonstrate that Starship can reach orbit, release satellites, and return safely to Earth. Success in the next test will mark a significant milestone toward its future use in satellite launches and crewed missions to the Moon and Mars.
SpaceX is now focusing on addressing the identified issues to soon achieve what seemed uncertain for the Starship launch.
