Decentralized messaging platform Status and zero-knowledge-powered layer-2 blockchain Linea are collaborating to develop a new rollup solution, named Status Network.

What is Status Network?

According to Status, the new layer-2 rollup solution Status Network aims to offer infrastructure that integrates the messaging platform’s mobile and desktop apps. The L2 will also connect to the Ethereum ecosystem and support SocialFi and GameFi.

Goals and Features of Status Network

The platform will provide an environment for governance experiments and integrate the Status voting system among other features. The goal is to scale Ethereum horizontally and enhance the ecosystem's interoperability.

Cyprien Grau, a core contributor at Status, said the 'ultimate goal is to scale Ethereum horizontally.' According to Grau, the partnership and rollout of the L2 Status Network will boost interoperability and aid in Ethereum’s scaling as a leading layer-1 network.
