Tether continues to actively develop in 2025, significantly increasing the supply of its stablecoin USDT and strengthening its financial position.
Growth of USDT Supply
In just six months, Tether has added $20 billion in USDT to the cryptocurrency market. This is backed by massive minting on both Ethereum and TRON, where 89 billion USDT is currently in circulation. For Ethereum, this number stands at 79 billion. This growth reflects increasing trust in Tether and stablecoins overall.
Profits from Bitcoin and Gold Assets
Tether is not only focused on stablecoins but also holds significant assets in Bitcoin and gold. In the first half of the year, the company earned $2.6 billion from its Bitcoin and gold investments, accounting for nearly half of its total profit of $5.7 billion. Currently, Tether holds 77,780 BTC, worth over $9.2 billion.
Tether's Strategic Investments
Tether reinvests its billions in profits into crypto infrastructure and strategic projects. In 2025, the company put an estimated $4 billion into various initiatives, including support for the Bitcoin-focused firm XXI Capital and the Rumble Wallet, thereby strengthening its presence in the crypto ecosystem.
Tether is rapidly solidifying its position in the cryptocurrency market, creating a strong foundation for the future through the increase of USDT supply, profits from assets, and strategic investments.
