Tether, known for issuing the USDT stablecoin, has once again added to its Bitcoin reserves. This recent acquisition of 8,889 BTC has significantly boosted Tether's total Bitcoin holdings to over 75,000 BTC.
Arkham Intelligence data reveals that Tether's latest Bitcoin purchase was made from Bitfinex on March 31, 2024. This move follows Tether's decision to invest in BTC in 2022, with the first purchase being announced in the first quarter of 2023.
CEO Paulo Ardoino emphasized Tether's confidence in Bitcoin as an investment asset due to its strength and potential. Tether's overall portfolio now includes 75,354 Bitcoins valued at $5.24 billion, in addition to stablecoins like USDT, EURT, and XAUT.
