The recent minting of 1 billion USDT occurred just two days after a similar event on April 2.

At the moment, there has been no statement from Tether regarding the release of this new batch of USDT.

Statistics from CoinMarketCap reveal that USDT currently has a capitalization of $106.2 billion. The DefiLlama dashboard displays USDT's market dominance at 69.2% of the total market capitalization amounting to $153.2 billion.

Analysts at CryptoQuant have noted a correlation between the circulating supply of USDT and the price of Bitcoin (BTC). Since late 2022, the circulating supply of USDT has increased by about 30 billion, with each supply increase coinciding with the start of a rise in Bitcoin's price.

Despite being a major stablecoin issuer in the market, there remain uncertainties surrounding Tether's reserves. This lack of transparency has led to concerns that the stablecoin may devalue, significantly impacting the cryptocurrency market.

Tether came under scrutiny following a Wall Street Journal report that alleged its associates utilized fraudulent documentation and front companies in order to access banking services.
