A new study by Animoca examines the prospects of tokenized assets, predicting significant growth within traditional finance.
Untapped Tokenized Asset Market
Researchers Andrew Ho and Ming Ruan noted that RWAs currently represent only $26 billion of a potential $400 trillion market. They described the current phase as an early-stage race, with asset managers rushing to build platforms that can manage the full lifecycle of tokenized products.
'This is a strategic land grab,' the report noted, arguing that whoever gains control of end-to-end infrastructure will capture the most value as the sector matures.
Reaching New Heights
Industry tracker RWA.xyz shows the tokenized market has reached an all-time high of $26.5 billion, growing 70% since January. Key growth drivers include private credit and U.S. Treasurys, which together account for nearly 90% of current tokenized value. Animoca's research also highlighted that this growth reflects 'clear momentum and rising institutional confidence.'
Future of a Multichain Ecosystem
Ethereum remains the dominant chain for RWA issuance, hosting 55% of all tokenized value. However, Animoca expects a multichain reality, where purpose-built blockchains and high-throughput networks start attracting tokenization projects. Interoperability is expected to determine long-term winners.
With increasing institutional interest and record-breaking figures in the tokenized market, Animoca's research suggests that RWAs could soon turn into one of the most significant growth stories in global finance.
